Hello There, My name is Braedan Snowden I am a young man from Whangarei. I have for the past five seasons been competitively racing in sprint karts and I have also been competitively and very successfully road racing in Superkarts for the last 6 months. I spend most of my free time on my racing simulator at home practicing my craft and learning tracks. I am currently beginning my first season of open wheel racing in Formula First (AKA Formula Vee), which is the first step in professional motorsport driving.

Although my Team is named Braedan Snowden Racing NZ I couldn’t do any of this without my family who have supported me from the beginning. We pride ourselves on sportsmanship and team presentation. My dad, Wade, started to race karts with me but as I had so much passion for motorsport and became successful quickly, he decided to put his time and focus on the mechanical side which he loves to do. My Mum, Hayley and my sister Chevaughn are my main supporters, helping where they can and they both enjoy watching the action and capturing the memories with their cameras. Our family moto is "the family that plays together, stays together".

MY INTERESTS

Watching motorsport (V8 Supercars, Formula 1), Soccer, Free Diving, working on the race car, Racing on my Simulator and spending time with family and friends.

MY INSPIRATIONS

My most inspiring people and idols are V8 Supercar drivers Shane Van Gisbergen and Scott McLaughlin, Indy Car Driver Scott Dixon and Formula 1 driver Lewis Hamilton.

MY FUTURE GOALS

My short-term goals are to become New Zealand No.1 in Formula First.

My long-term goal is to eventually (working through the classes) become a World Class Touring Car Driver/V8 Supercars Driver.

MY MASTER PLAN FOR 2019/2020 SEASON

While dad works on making sure my Formula First is running at peak performance, if I can’t be on a track racing or testing, I will be working with my personal trainer at the gym to ensure I have the stamina, fitness and strength for racing. I will ensure I get as much time behind the wheel practising and also spend countless hours on my racing simulator at home practicing.

MY DRIVER COACHING TEAM FOR 2019/2020

I am extremely excited, proud and honoured to be working with a few great Motorsport Driver Coaches this season. Two of which I have worked with whilst I was Karting. Kartsport New Zealands top accredited coaches Daniel Connor and Ryan Urban. Ryan Urban is the only person so far in New Zealand to ever win a world title in Karting and also did a season in Formula Suzuki claiming victory. Daniel Connor has also raced at the Karting Worlds and more recently raced and won in the SsangYong Ute Series 2 consecutive years running. The other person who will be Driver coaching me is Chris van der Drift, who has Championship titles in International Formula Master and Porsche Carrera Cup Asia, he has recently returned to the NZ karting scene.
